About Your Coach

My name is Milton Houy and I’m an ultrarunner from Louisiana. My running journey began in high school where I would go on to be a Louisiana All-State Runner in both Cross-Country and Track from 2009 - 2012. After high school I attended Mcneese State University where I majored in Health and Human Performance Education. During my college years I did not run, but instead, focused mainly on strength and resistance training. In 2022 I qualified for the Spartan Race World Championship, but could not attend due to an injury. This is ultimately what led me to my love…trail racing. I started ultrarunning in 2023. I’ve since completed 12 trail ultras ranging from 50k to 100 miles. Out of the 12 I have reached the podium 7 times. I have also done 6 sub-ultra trail races, winning 2 of them and getting a podium spot at another.

My ultra running journey has brought me so much joy and pushed me way past any threshold I could have ever dreamed up. Coaching is something that I have always wanted to do since I went to college. Along my running journey I was able to learn so much from podcasts, other runners, and reading articles about various topics. This is what lead me to getting my Ultrarunning Coaching Certification through UESCA. I want to be able to help other runners reach their full potential, push their limits, and give them the coaching experience that they deserve.
